Rowland Homes helping to feed people in need at St Thomas Food Club in Garstang

Rowland Homes recently attended the Garstang Show where they held a raffle with all the proceeds being donated to the St Thomas Church food club, as well as donating an extra £500 to help this amazing charity.

St Thomas Church Food Club is based in the village of Garstang, aiming to help local residents who are in urgent need of food and other daily necessities. The food club not only provides much-needed provisions to the local residents, but it's also a safe place people can go to learn new skills. As part of their future plans, the club intend to deliver cookery classes which will allow families to learn how to prepare affordable food and teach their children to cook and eat healthy food on a budget.

Helen Forshaw the Chair at St Thomas' Garstang Food Bank says “On behalf of the Food Bank I would like to thank you for the generous donation of £600 to support our work. Garstang Food Bank exists to provide food and assistance to local people in need and we are currently supporting around 25 families each month, which includes up to 20 children. No-one in immediate need of food is turned away. Some people only require short-term assistance to get them through a difficult patch.  Thanks to Rowlands’ donation we will be able to continue helping our current service users, as well as others who may come to us in the months ahead.”

Stephen Grant, Rowland’s Sales Director said “When the opportunity to sponsor the local food bank in Garstang came up, it was something we knew we wanted to help out with. Communities that we build in are very important to us and we try to support them wherever possible.”

Rowland’s development Heritage Park is located in Garstang offering a beautiful range of 2, 3 & 4 bedroom homes with something for everyone from first time buyers, families and downsizers.
