LANCASHIRE housebuilder Rowland has recorded its highest monthly sales since spring 2008.
The Leyland-based developer, responsible for nine sites across the North West, secured 19 reservations in November - its most positive conversion rate since the start of the economic downturn.
The news comes as The Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors today revealed interest among potential buyers had risen for the seventh month in a row and was now positive for the first time since October 2006.
Commenting on the results, Rowland’s founder and Managing Director Paul Rowley, said: “November saw a significant leap in our monthly sale rate, reflective of the efforts being made by the Government to address the recession, but perhaps more significantly, a new wave of pro-active buyers in the marketplace.
“A combination of the significant interest rate cut, better mortgage products and improved consumer confidence has resulted in sales across eight developments. Visitor levels are up and people are not just window shopping. This is a highly opportunistic time for buyers who can benefit from maximum value for money with our range of support packages designed to give people the help they need to move.
“Many people are realising there has never been a better time to buy a new build home. Consumers are seeing opportunity behind the negative slogan ‘credit crunch’ and it’s the visitors who know what they want and act now to get it that will reap significant long terms rewards.”
