KERRY Scerrio has made the transition from accounts administrator to sales negotiator after her enthusiasm to learn was recognised by Rowland.
The North West developer put 30-year-old Kerry through an intensive training scheme shadowing negotiators to learn the fundamentals of the selling process.
Having worked for Rowland for four years, Kerry desired the opportunity to take on a new challenge to enhance her contribution to the business.
She said: “Rowland has been nothing but encouraging towards my career change, giving me the opportunity to train alongside the negotiators and now employing me as a fully fledged sales member. Having an established skill set in an accounts based role, I wanted a more people-orientated position as the public face of Rowland and have worked hard to adapt my skills to meet the challenges of the job.
“I hope to develop a career as a valuable and effective member of the sales team, playing my part in helping Rowland achieve its growth targets.”
With more than 30 members of staff at its Lancashire based headquarters, Rowland’s culture is one of self-motivation and opportunity. The company rewards those who make a direct contribution to its success and strives to support and encourage the ambitions of its employees.
Commenting on Kerry’s new role, managing director Paul Rowley said: “Kerry is a prime example of the independent minded, ambitious people Rowland seeks to employ. She has invested time and energy to transform her career path and I applaud her determination to succeed. She has all the skills to be an excellent sales negotiator and Rowland will continue to nurture her talent.”
Established in 1993, Lancashire based Rowland has succeeded in accomplishing the difficult transition from small local business to major regional player, having completed more than 60 developments across the North West.
It has ten current live sites in Wirral, Manchester, Bolton, Rochdale, Chorley, Stockport, Widnes and Mossley, with new developments in Liverpool, Southport and Leyland coming on stream later in 2008.
